Fees and Insurance Information

Rates (vary by provider):

  • Standard 45-50 minute sessions (most common) for individual or couple – $150 – $190.
  • Extended session, group, psychosocial assessment, and other rates as stated per specialized program.

Fees are payable at the time of service or prepaid except as stated for specialized programs. InPsych accepts cash, check, HSA cards, debit, and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover).

Remember that this is absolutely an investment in you and your relationships. You have a responsibility to thoughtfully consider what your emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being is worth.

Insurance:

Our therapists are not on any managed care panels (HMOs). However, you may use out-of-network benefits if you have a PPO AND work with one of our fully licensed therapists. The way this works is you would pay for your session, and we would provide you with a statement (superbill) containing all the necessary information to submit to the insurance company, who would then reimburse you directly.

Please note that for insurance to reimburse mental health services, you must be given a diagnosis.

Insurance companies typically do not reimburse marital/couples therapy.

Please note that the therapists at InPsych Center are NOT Medi-Cal or Medicare providers.

We suggest you contact your insurance company directly and ask the following questions:

  • Does my plan have out-of-network benefits? If so, what are they?
  • Specifically, do I have mental health benefits?
  • How much is covered?
  • Do I need pre-approval?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How do I submit claims, how often do I need to submit them, and how long does it take to receive reimbursement?

* * Telemental Health Specific Questions * *

  • Do you cover teletherapy in general?

  • How do you define telemental health (do they cover video and/or phone therapy?)
  • In the case of the CDC guidelines of social distancing, are you covering telemental health for the time being?
  • Do you have any requirements about the location of the client or the clinician during telemental health?

  • What are the details about how you prefer telemental health to be billed? Do you use the modifier 95 or GT?
  • Does the reimbursement rate change for telemental health?

Cancellations:

Your time is reserved especially for you! In order to provide premium services and availability to clients in need, please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment, otherwise you are responsible for the payment of the session.
